Groß-Umstadt has been connecting people for 60 years

Living town twinnings for a shared Europe!

The Groß-Umstadt Twinning Committee has nurtured three partner towns across Europe since 1966. Get to know the association, its structure and the ways you can get involved.

Attention: new venue for the French regulars’ table – Hotel Hax!

Dear members and friends of the French section,
because of water damage at the Gruberhof, we will not be able to meet for our regulars’ tables in the “Kuhstall” at least until the end of this year.
So please come on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, after the visit to the maize maze, at 7:30 pm to the Gasthof zum Lamm (Hotel Hax)!

Why is twinning important?

Town twinnings build bridges between cultures and people. They promote understanding, strengthen friendships and create opportunities for shared exchange. For Groß-Umstadt, twinning means actively living openness to the world and solidarity – a valuable contribution to peace and international cooperation.

With three highly active partnerships and regular citizens’ trips, the Groß-Umstadt twinning is regarded as an exemplary case of lived European town twinning in Germany.

Our regulars’ tables: French & Italian

Nurture personal contacts across borders. We meet regularly to keep the friendship with our partner towns Saint-Péray and Dicomano alive. Open to members and anyone interested – just drop by at the next meeting.
